Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry

We are a young interdisciplinary group assembled from Biochemists, Biophysicists and Physicists. We are interested in the organisation of the plasma membrane by the submembrane cytoskeleton and particularly the septins. To investigate such structures we develop and use single molecule and superresolution microscopy methods. We offer an ambitious environment striving for excellence in scholasticism, experiment, analysis and communication.

Development and application of challenging assays involving single molecule imaging in live cells, especially high-density, high accuracy single particle tracking, tracking of magnetic nanoparticles and super resolution microscopy. Expansion microscopy combined with 3D imaging and STED microscopy. Superresolution microscopy of membrane-apposed structures and nuclear structures.
